Marvel Comics’ Victory on The Big Screen 2011

Marvel has been setting up for an Avengers movie since the first Iron Man came out in 2008. This year, they finished releasing the films which act as 2 hour-long trailers for the Avengers. Both Thor, and Captain America, good movies,  did what they were intended to do. Thor was meant to be a somewhat more lighthearted, action-adventure movie, which doesn’t take itself too seriously. Captain America, is meant to be viewed in a more serious light, but it showed the development of Steve Rogers, as he turned into Captain America. Both these characters will play a pivotal role in the upcoming Avengers film.

Although not in any direct connection with the upcoming blockbuster, X-men first class was by far the best of the Marvel films this year. The relationship and backstory of Professor X and Magneto was explored beautifully. Kevin Bacon, who is awesome in everything he is in, played an excellent villain, and this movie was the best of the summer. Oh and did I mention these were all box office successes.
